Watt, a junior defensive end, announced the decision in an open letter to Badgers fans -- which can be read by clicking here.
Watt was a consensus first-team All-Big Ten selection and was a second-team All American in 2010 for the Badgers, who made the Rose Bowl for the first time since the 1999 season.
Watt has been a ferocious presence on the defensive line for Wisconsin. He was third in the nation with 21 tackles for loss and also registered seven sacks and two forced fumbles.
He stands 6-foot-5 and weighs around 280 pounds.
Watt doesn't project as a first-rounder on many draft boards just yet, but things can change after the combine and individual workouts.
