Barcelona vs. Club America May End in Another Defeat for Barcelona
Barcelona's trip the the United States has not gone according to play as they have been outscored 6-2 in their two games in America.
They have come away with just a single goal in games against CD Guadalajara and Manchester United and were defeated in both games. They lost 2-1 to Manchester United and were pummeled by CD Guadalajara in the second half as they lost 4-1.
Lionel Messi did not make the trip to America after his Argentina side was knocked out of the Copa America.
While both of these matches are friendlies and don't affect anything in the long run for Barca, they should be a bit worried about their poor play. This team lacks explosiveness without Messi and they desperately need him in top form when the season starts.
Barca has a ton of talent but they don't seem to look as fluid or as lethal without Messi in the lineup. They take on Club America for their final match in the World Football Challenge and have the chance to prove to themselves, their fans, and the rest of the world that they are still the best team in the world with or without Messi.
Club America has not scored a goal yet in the World Football Challenge as they fell to Manchester City 2-0 and Juventus 1-0.
They also have played a lot of their bench players as they are in the middle of their season. If they somehow play Barca to a draw or come away with a victory, Barcelona will head back to Spain with an incredibly disappointing trip.
