Ravens vs. Chiefs Preseason Football: 2 Lessons from the First Half

After a half of play, the Ravens and Chiefs are tied at ten. There are three things that have stood out.

1. Both Teams Can Put Pressure on the Quarterback

While only one sack was registered by the Ravens, both teams have done a great job of putting pressure on the quarterback.

The pressure has done a great job of causing quarterbacks to throw the ball short, with Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco averaging 5.8 yards a pass and Kansas City's Matt Cassel only gaining 5.2.

If the teams are able to continue this into the season, they will definitely be able to cause headaches for opposing quarterbacks, forcing teams to abandon their gameplan early.

2. The Special Teams Need Work

The first field goal of the game came as a result of a Baltimore fumble on a punt return. The Chiefs' Ryan Succop missed a field goal.

Both teams will really need to address these issues before the season begins.

We'll see how the second half goes, but so far the offenses have not done much. This defensive play looks to continue.
