Fantasy Football Rankings Week 7: Dez Bryant and 5 Players Whose Stock Will Rise

Week 7 of the 2011 NFL season means a few things for fantasy football owners, but the biggest is that they can expect a few players to step up and play big-time football.

It's almost the half-way point of the season believe it or not, and I've said it many times, but I'll repeat it again for effect: This is the time when contenders set themselves apart, and the pretenders are exposed.

From a fantasy football standpoint, that means that certain players are going to start putting up some huge numbers as the pressure on their teams to win increases.

Here are five players that are about to take a huge leap in fantasy stock:

Dez Bryant, WR, Cowboys

Earlier this week, I thought the 0-5 Rams may have a shot to upset the Cowboys, who are seemingly in an endless free-fall this season. After thinking about it for a while, I've come to realize that the Rams won't be able to stop both Dez Bryant and Miles Austin. I think Bryant is going to have a huge game and should be able to pull in at least two scores.

Roddy White, WR, Falcons

The issue with White as of late is that he hasn't been 100 percent healthy. A lot of people are starting to get down on Atlanta, but I think this is going to be a huge week for White and the Falcons. The Lions have issues stopping the run, so they will really be focused on stopping Michael Turner. They can be burned through the air, though, and I think White is going to be that guy.

Cam Newton, QB, Panthers

Newton puts up a ton of numbers, but the one thing that hurts him is his inconsistency. He also throws a lot of interceptions, so most fantasy owners have him on the bench as potential future trade bait or as a keeper. I think the Panthers have a great shot at beating the Washington Redskins this week, and Newton is going to play a large role in that. Expect Newton's most well-rounded and explosive game as a pro.

John Beck, QB, Redskins:

On the other side of the field from Newton will be newly-appointed starter John Beck. Coach Mike Shanahan has granted him the job over Rex Grossman, and from what I've seen out of Beck so far, he should be able to put up some numbers.

Arian Foster, RB, Texans:

You're probably wondering why Arian Foster's name would be on a list of guys whose stock is going up. That must mean his stock was down, right? The truth of the matter is that with his lingering hamstring injuries and Houston's injuries as a whole, his stock has been down. The Titans gave up 174 yards on the ground to the Steelers last week, and I expect Foster and the boys to do the same this week.
