NBA Playoffs 2011: Do the Miami Heat Need to Make a Statement Tonight in Game 5?

Will the Miami Heat Finish the Boston Celtics in the 2011 NBA Playoffs?

The Miami Heat have a 3-1 lead over the Boston Celtics. Game 5 is set for tonight at 7:00 pm ET on TNT in American Airlines Arena. With home court advantage the Heat are in great position to make a statement win tonight.

The Heat can step on the throat of the aging Celtics tonight and let the NBA know they aren't messing around. If Miami lets Boston hang around for too long in this game there is a good chance the Celtics will finally close out a win.

The Heat have to keep their foot on the gas tonight. I don't think the Celtics will come back and win the series. Are they capable of it? Sure. But will they? I wouldn't bet on it.

LeBron James and Dwayne Wade told reporters yesterday that the Celtics inspired them to join forces. The original big three made way for Miami's big three. It was weird to see the Heat almost praising the Celtics.

However, at the same time it was like the Heat were talking down to the Celtics. Basically saying that we're the new three in town and you can't hang with us.

LBJ and Wade have played extremely well this post season, and even Bosh has stepped up his game. Tonight is the night the Heat must put this series away. The Heat can't afford to keep giving the Celtics hope.

The Celtics are hanging on by a thread, and it's time the Heat cut them loose.
