Madden 12 has consumed our souls again.
Everyone is scrambling to play with their favorite teams in the exciting updated Franchise Mode, but it always comes back to the gameplay. When we buy a video game, we want to play it, not marvel at the new features listed in the manual. EA Sports made the gameplay more responsive and smoother in addition to the improved graphics and overall presentation. Here?s the five most exciting players to control in the game.
5. Peyton Hillis, RB, Cleveland Browns
You gotta have the cover boy on this list! Hillis was amazing to watch last year as he powered his way through any defenders like a battering ram. As you would expect, he?s a damn downhill wrecking ball in Madden. Speed used to kill in Madden, but the gameplay is far more responsive to stiff arms and allowing players to break tackles to this brute force of destruction.
4. Troy Polamalu, S, Pittsburgh Steelers
They call him the Tazmanian Devil for good reason. Polamalu is a blast to control on defense because of his supreme combination of strength, speed and instincts. He can take down any ball carrier and intercept any pass. More importantly, he has the speed and quickness to blitz, play the run or drop back into coverage.
3. Clay Matthews, OLB, Green Bay Packers
The runner-up to Polamalu in the 2010 Defensive Player of the Year voting, Matthews is one notch above Troy on the fun Richter scale. He has incredible speed and strength to make the opposing quarterback?s life a living hell. He is nearly unstoppable off the edge as he bulrushes offensive lineman. His speed allows him to drop into coverage and run nearly stride for stride with wide receivers, which allows players to bat down or even intercept passes.
2. Adrian Peterson, RB, Minnesota Vikings
What do you want to do? Do you want to run somebody over? Do you want to run right past them? Do you want to juke them out of their shoes? Whatever you want, you got it with Adrian Peterson. Even better, he has solid enough hands where you can just dump the rock off to him and exploit defenses with his unmatched skill set.
1. Michael Vick, QB, Philadelphia Eagles
Was there any doubt the runner-up in the cover vote was going to be the most exciting player in the game? He?s the most exciting player in real life and is the most dynamic and lethal player in Madden 12. You can out-run anybody out of the pocket, scramble for 40 yards with ease and drop back to drop bombs into the secondary. It?s unfair, actually.
