WWE Hell in a Cell 2011: Reasons Why John Cena WILL Lose the WWE Title

Hell in a Cell appears to be a pay-per-view that is rushed and understandably so. It is only two weeks after the Night of Champions and that is only four shows to establish any momentum and impact going into the PPV.

With that said there was not a lot that could be done to build up any of the matches on the card. Many titles will be defended at Hell in a Cell and many are predicting not a lot of changing will take place and most, if not all, titles will be successfully retained.

I do not think this at all.

The WWE title picture got interesting the moment CM Punk was reintroduced into it in favor of continuing the on-going feud between Triple H and the locker room. It was a great trade and both pictures have gotten interested since than. With two great storylines on RAW, the show appears to be improving more.

Still with all of that said what does that have to do with John Cena losing the title at this week's PPV Hell in a Cell?

The only way to find out is to continue reading on. With that said, let the slideshow begin.

Steve Jobs reportedly tried to defuse the Samsung issue in 2010

Apple and Samsung butted heads in a Sydney, Australia courtroom on Thursday; arguing over an injunction that could ban the sales of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet. During the proceedings, Apple executive Richard Lutton revealed that Steve Jobs contacted Samsung back in 2010. The Apple CEO reached out to the Korean manufacturer because of the "deep relationship" between the two companies. Jobs tried to head off any legal action by giving Samsung a "chance to do the right thing."

In the past year, Samsung and Apple have had a rocky relationship. Apple obtains several key iPhone and iPad components from Samsung and is one of Samsung's biggest customers. But the two companies are fierce competitors in the both the smartphone and tablet market. It's this competition that's the source of their legal wrangling.

Apple kicked off the legal battle when it filed lawsuits in Germany, Australia, South Korea, Japan and the US that accuse Samsung of trademark and patent infringement. Samsung responded with its own series of patent infringement lawsuits. This tangled web of legal proceedings is slowly making its way through the courts.

Tavis Smiley To Put A Face To Poverty

Tavis Smiley will put a human face on the alarming new data about poverty in America with special programming on both his national public television and radio programs.

With nearly 50 million Americans, or one in six, now living in poverty, “The Poverty Tour: A Call to Conscience” will kick off with a roundtable discussion on The Tavis Smiley Show from PRI on Friday, October 7 (check local public radio listings), and be the focus of five special episodes on the PBS program Tavis Smiley Monday, October 10 through Friday, October 14 (check local listings).

Tavis Smiley is a co-production of THIRTEEN and The Smiley Group, Inc. in association with WNET New York Public Media. For nearly 50 years, WNET has been producing and broadcasting national and local documentaries and other programs to the New York community.

To start the conversation, Smiley will sit down with poverty experts on The Tavis Smiley Show from PRI, airing October 7. The panelists include: Dennis Van Roekel, president of the National Education Association (NEA); Emily Allen, vice president of the AARP Foundation; Vicki B. Escarra, president of Feeding America; and Patrick McCarthy, president of the Annie E. Casey Foundation.

Each night during the unprecedented weeklong series on poverty, Tavis Smiley on PBS will feature video highlights from Smiley’s nationwide August 2011 poverty bus tour with his Smiley & West co-host, Princeton professor Dr. Cornel West. Stopping in 18 cities across nine states, Smiley spoke to everyday Americans, including children, about their struggles in today’s economy. Each night, following highlights from the tour, Smiley will speak with a leading poverty advocate.

“What I witnessed firsthand during The Poverty Tour was both inspiring and heartbreaking,” says Smiley. “Americans who were recently middle class are now considered the ‘new poor’ and they live in our cities, suburbs and rural communities. But in the darkness, we also saw rays of hope in programs that are working on the ground, right now. The federal government has to find the will to continue to fund those programs in honor of a better tomorrow.”

Featured guests in this TV special series include:

  • Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius who will address how poverty is impacting the health and wellness of American families.
  • Economist and author Jeffrey Sachs who has been at the forefront of economic development, poverty alleviation and enlightened globalization for more than 20 years. His latest book is titled The Price of Civilization.
  • Vicki B. Escarra, president of Feeding America, which is the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization that provides food to more than 37 million Americans each year, including 14 million children and 3 million seniors.
  • Jim Wallis, best-selling author, public theologian, speaker and international commentator on ethics and public life. He recently served on the President’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships and currently chairs the Global Agenda Council on Faith for the World Economic Forum.
  • Princeton professor and New York Times best-selling author Cornel West who is considered to be one of America’s leading public intellectuals.

Funding for the weeklong programming on poverty is provided in part by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, AARP Foundation and Annie E. Casey Foundation.

And they're asking the public to help thwart the "throw-overs." In the past month at the medium-security federal prison, marijuana, hashish, cocaine and pharmaceuticals with a behind-bars value of more than $47,000 have been seized as a result of outsiders' attempts to lob packages into the exercise yard, the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) said.

No Comment: Proof that Samsung shamelessly copies Apple

We saw this image posted to Reddit after seeing it linked on Daring Fireball, and it was just too good not to share. Below you'll see a very long image that shows how extensively Samsung has copied Apple in its products, packaging, presentation, marketing, and even app interfaces. Any one of these things by itself you might be able to pass off as coincidence or with the "there's only so many ways to skin a tablet" argument, but when they're put all together like this it's pretty unmistakable how extensively and shamelessly Samsung is aping Apple.

Argue the merits of Apple's "look and feel" lawsuit against Samsung all you like, but other than wagging our fingers at Samsung, this gets a well-deserved "No Comment."

Procter & Gamble Going After 8-Year-Old’s Fancy Soap Company

Babyish.

A precocious whippersnapper from the Upper East Side private school Spence told her mother one day during a bath that she was done with "babyish" soap, so her mom made her a new brand. Willa, named after the child, is a skin-care line for tweens, but according to Procter & Gamble, the name sounds too much like Wella, the line of hair products they acquired for $7 billion in 2003. Instead of complying with the cease-and-desist order, the mother and daughter team is suing, and the "trademark bullying" case will go to court in October. Legal fees for the family are estimated around $750,000. "It's just a lot of stress for my mom," said little Willa. But think of it this way: Her college admissions essay is all but written.

CCL: Juninho Saves Los Angeles Galaxy in 2-1 Victory over Monarcas Morelia

Tomas Boy and Monarcas Morelia, you may have a clutch performer in Miguel Sabah. But this is the CONCACAF Champions League, and on any given night, two can play at that game.

Say hello to Los Angeles's version of Sabah: Juninho.

A scramble off a Landon Donovan corner found the young Brazilian, who sent an untouchable ball past Monarcas keeper Federico Vilar en route to a 2-1 statement victory that keeps Bruce Arena's Galaxy alive—at least until the final match day of the group stage.

Mike Magee opened the scoring in the 20th minute, when Todd Dunivant's delivery found the foot of red-hot Mike Magee. Rafael Marquez Lugo equalized matters at the hour mark as a result of poor miscommunication between goalkeeper Josh Saunders and Bryan Jordan.

In the end, this result is a tribute to Morelia's inability to finish. Save for one legit opportunity, Miguel Sabah's magic that helped the Monarchs at Estadio Morelos ran out at the Home Depot Center.

Furthermore, a frustrating night offensively came as the result of a number of wasted shots by the likes of Yasser Corona, Angel Sepulveda, Damian Manso, Luis Miguel Noriega and Marquez Lugo.

Morelia had so many chances to bury this match, but either the attempts went wide left, wide right, bounced off the woodwork and cleared, or collected. It was an inexcusable night of finishing for a Monarcas side that wanted to sweep the Galaxy, especially with a majority of the 7,500 in attendance donning red and yellow.

As for the Galaxy, playing desperate football will work wonders against Real Salt Lake this Saturday. RSL were eliminated from contention for the MLS Supporters' Shield with their 3-0 defeat to the Chicago Fire, but the 4-1 defeat at Rio Tinto Stadium is on the minds of the Galaxy players.

They know that aside from Seattle, Real Salt Lake is the one team that could derail the Galaxy's changes at winning the MLS Cup.

The stakes are considerably lower, but the need to make amends remains, and Los Angeles must get the job done.

Juninho's goal made up for the late winner surrendered to Sabah at Morelos, and he celebrated the victory in his way by replicating Robbie Keane's celebration. Injuries prevented Keane and David Beckham from taking part, although Beckham was suspended for the match on yellow-card accumulation.

As an aside, perhaps Juninho should change his full legal name to Juninho Pereira Fitzpatrick. Only a suggestion, mind.

With the result, all eyes are on Tegucigalpa, and the Group A finale with C.D. Motagua. The Galaxy need to know how to win on the road, and on paper, this should be the easiest team to defeat away. However, if one takes into consideration the fact that Tauro F—a side that was swept by Toronto in group play—ambushed FC Dallas 5-3, nothing is for certain.

Nonetheless, this match becomes the moment of truth for Bruce Arena's Galaxy, and a victory will give them the privilege to partake in the championship round of the region's most prestigious club competition.

Kickoff between the Los Angeles Galaxy and Club Deportive Motagua at Tegucigalpa's Estadio Nacional is scheduled for October 20 at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET and will be televised by Fox Soccer Channel.

CN ON: Editorial: Crime Bill: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly

Hamilton Spectator, 22 Sep 2011 - The federal government's omnibus crime bill -- dubbed the Safe Streets and Communities Act -- does a lot of things right, but a few things wrong, and in a worrisome way. The politics of the thing are obvious. Stephen Harper pledged tough-on-crime measures, in part as an appeal to his bedrock conservative supporters. Yes, crime rates are at their lowest since 1973, and there are undoubtedly more serious problems facing Canadians than crime -- the global financial crisis and its impact on Canada chief among them. But there are no surprises here. Harper tried to get much of this stuff through when he led a minority government, and failed. He said all along he'd pursue the agenda if given a majority, and Canadians gave him one. We may disagree with his strategic vision on the matter and timing, but you can't credibly argue he doesn't have a mandate to enact these measures.

Andy Roddick And Elton John Raise Charity Cash

The 6th annual Andy Roddick Foundation Charity Gala raised over one million dollars for children’s organizations last week at the ACL Live Moody Theater.

Andy was joined on the red carpet by his wife Brooklyn Decker, Terrell Owens, Fred Couples, James Blake, Bobby Bones, Mark Knowles and the Mayor of Austin, Lee Leffingwell.

The inspiring evening included a cocktail reception, dinner and live auction, an intimate performance by Elton John and after party hosted by SAP. Guests bid on one of a kind auction items including a spa day with Brooklyn Decker, golf with Andy and Fred Couples and unique trips to The Masters and Australian Open.

While the event focused on raising funds and awareness for several local children’s organizations, Andy and his friends kept the mood light hearted. Austin DJ Bobby Bones opened the event with some friendly digs at his good friend Andy, saying he was as nervous to get on stage as Andy is before the French Open. Andy took the stage next and returned the favor with some witty banter. Following the live Auction, Sir Elton John took the stage with a dynamic set including his legendary classics. Andy was humbled when Sir Elton John complimented the tennis star’s continuing philanthropic efforts and big heart, even calling him a “mench” in between songs.

Following several standing ovations for the once in a lifetime performance, guests mingled on the W Hotel patio at the SAP after party. It was an evening full of surprises, good people, good times, and most importantly great efforts towards improving the lives of children.

Natalie Cole To Spotlight Hepatitis C Campaign

Grammy winner Natalie Cole, who was diagnosed with chronic hepatitis C in 2008, will meet with leading patient advocates in Washington, D.C., and discuss the Tune In to Hep C national public health initiative, sponsored by Merck and the American Liver Foundation, at a National Press Club Speakers Luncheon, Wednesday, October 19. ?

“There is a stigma around chronic hepatitis C because it’s associated with IV drug use. But it doesn’t matter how you got the virus, it matters what you do about it,” Natalie Cole said. “That’s why I’ve joined the Tune In to Hep C campaign to share my story and motivate people to take the next step by speaking to their doctor. Doing nothing is not an option.”

Cole, who realized she’d been living with the virus for more than 25 years after being diagnosed during a routine examination, will call to elevate the public discussion around chronic hepatitis C and encourage others to take action. Hepatitis C is a liver disease often referred to as the “silent disease” because it can be in the body for decades without apparent symptoms. An estimated 3.2 million Americans have hepatitis C though many are unaware they have it.

Cole has earned nine GRAMMY awards. The daughter of legendary singer Nat King Cole, her debut album Inseparable (1975) earned a No. 1 single, This Will Be (An Everlasting Love), and two GRAMMY awards for Best New Artist, as well as Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. Her 1991 album Unforgettable…With Love included a duet with her late father and earned six GRAMMY awards. Cole’s latest album, Still Unforgettable, (2008) garnered two more GRAMMY awards. Cole documented her life story in her autobiography, Angel on My Shoulder (2000).

The Press Club luncheon will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. Remarks will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session.

To submit a question in advance, type COLE in the subject line and send to president@press.org before 10 a.m. on the day of event. National Press Club Luncheons are webcast live on press.org. Follow the conversation on Twitter using the hashtag #NPCLunch, or on Facebook at facebook.com/PressClubDC and Twitter @PressClubDC. Submit questions for speakers in advance and during the live event by sending them to @QNPCLunch on Twitter

Minecraft Pocket Edition headed to iOS later this year

We've been waiting awhile for an official Minecraft client for iOS, and it looks like we'll have to wait a bit longer. According to Pocket Gamer, Minecraft - Pocket Edition will debut for Android devices on September 29, but Minecraft developer Mojang has offered only a vague "before the end of the year" launch for iOS.

Minecraft - Pocket Edition has been an exclusive for Xperia Play so far, but its wider launch on Android devices means it's just a matter of time before the game comes to the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.

A video of Minecraft - Pocket Edition running on a phone from Sony Ericsson is embedded below. The controls look quite intuitive, and scrolling around seems very smooth. If you're already addicted to Minecraft, things are only going to get worse for you later this year when you can take the game with you wherever you go.

Barack Obama?s Approach to E-mail Has Been Very Confusing of Late

I'll admit to experiencing a little instantaneous frisson of excitement every time Barack Obama's name pops up in the sender column of my inbox. But lately, something's different.

Take today, for instance. At 1:16 p.m., he wrote me an e-mail headlined, "If I don't call you," preemptively apologizing for the fact that he's going to be very busy and probably won't get around to ringing. But he also raised the possibility that he might! So now I'm going to be thinking about it every time my phone buzzes. And he also added this: "And if I don't call you, there's a chance I'll see you at dinner with three other supporters sometime soon." So, are you sounding me out for whether I'd be interested in dinner? Letting me down easy? I'M SO CONFUSED.

I mean, just on September 16, he wrote me this e-mail that seemed very direct from its subject line: "Noreen, can we meet for dinner?" I was into the idea. But then he was so vague when it came to nailing down the details. "[W]henever I can, I want to take the opportunity to meet you," he wrote. "Sometime soon." And he made it clear that it was going to be a group thing again ("three other people"), and so I was like, fine, okay, I get it. Plus, I found out that he sent my friend the exact same e-mail on the same day, only with the subject line "Let's Meet." It's like he thought we wouldn't talk about it, which, ha. It's like he's being toxic on purpose.

But then ... I dunno. He signed off with, "maybe I'll get to thank you in person," and it really seemed like he wanted me to read something more into that, you know?

It's been going on for so long, too. He started e-mailing me about dinner all the way back in June. And I think he's been thinking about that, too. Like, in August, he wrote me this e-mail that was titled "Frustrated." It was supposedly about Congress, but why did he use that subject line, exactly? But then I remembered that his wife e-mailed me on his birthday about signing his birthday card, and I had this moment where I was just like, Noreen: You. Need. To. Cut. This. Off.

The other sort of awkward thing is that he keeps hitting me up for cash in these e-mails. I should just end this, right?
