Week 3 Fantasy Football Projections: 3 Studs Sure to Disappoint

There is nothing worse than going way too high for a player you like in your fantasy draft, and by Week 3 he is already sitting on your bench.

While you could have avoided all of this by not selecting this player at all, now that you are stuck with him, it’s your job to figure out when to start him and when to swallow your pride and let him ride the pine.

These players were all selected in the first three rounds of most standard leagues, but none will produce the output their draft position depicts and need to be sitting this week.

Frank GoreThe San Francisco 49ers have been one of the most willing teams to run the ball through two weeks of the season, but veteran running back Frank Gore just cant get it going.

With just 106 yards on 24 carries and one touchdown, the first-round fantasy selection is producing like a mid-round pick. While the Cincinnati Bengals aren’t great, their run defense will be good enough to stifle the struggling Gore.

Steve Smith—While rookie quarterback Cam Newton is doing amazing things with the Carolina Panthers, wide receiver Steve Smith will not have the same opportunities this week against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jaguars will be double covering Smith and playing him rough in an attempt to stifle his big numbers, and Newton will have a hard time getting the ball to him with all of the pressure Jacksonville will bring.

Arian Foster—While the Houston Texans remain hopeful that star running back and fantasy first-round pick Arian Foster will play Sunday, fantasy owners should be much more skeptical.

Foster tried to return early last week and reaggravated the hamstring injury that plagued him since the preseason, so if you have Ben Tate as your handcuff, he should be in your lineup.
