Inter Milan: Momentum Can Shift Quickly for Nerazzuri

It is hard to imagine a worse start to the season for Inter Milan.

The Nerazzuri lost four of their first five matches and drew in the other. Gian Piero Gasperini was also fired as manager after this disastrous start. However, football is a fickle game and the fortunes of the season can turn around quickly.

Inter were finally able to get a victory on Saturday, by beating Bologna 3-1. The performance was far from a master class, and one victory hardly means the Nerazzuri are back on track, but it is a step in the right direction.

Inter had to fight hard for the match and showed a much better effort then in previous games. Even so, it looked like this match would finish as another frustrating result. However, it didn’t happen this time around as Inter got two late goals to take the victory.

Getting the first win of the season should help to relieve some of the pressure from the squad. If they can string a couple more victories in a row they can pick up momentum quickly.

There are other reasons to be optimistic for this team. Claudio Ranieri is an excellent manager and has a lot of experience. It would be hard for Inter to find a better manager with the season already started that could steady the ship better then him.

Other title contenders have also gotten off to a slow start. Milan and Roma only have one more point than Inter. In addition to that, Juventus, who sit atop the table, are just four points ahead of Inter, with 34 matches matches remaining. Therefore, there should be no reason to panic at this point for the Nerazzuri.
