2011 NFL Draft: Final First Round Mock, Seahawks Trade First Pick

There has been speculation brewing on what the Seattle Seahawks will do with their first pick. My Seahawk's seven-round mock draft got under the skin of the anti-Locker crowd, but come on...if Jake Locker is on the board at No. 25, the Seahawks almost have to gamble that his issues in college were due to the fact that the offense around him was just plain bad.

I still don't see Seattle taking a QB until late in the draft.  They will work on other positions to build the core of their team and look to bring in a QB in free agency (Carson Palmer) and draft a QB in 2012.

There are a few trades sprinkled around in this draft, two of them involving the Seahawks.  Here are some thoughts on what could unfold:

1. Carolina Panthers: Marcell Dareus, DT, Alabama:

2. Cincinnati Bengals: Cam Newton, QB Auburn: The Bengals move up to grab Newton.

3. Buffalo Bills:  Von Miller, OLB, Texas A&M

4. Denver Broncos:  Nick Fairley, DT, Auburn: The guy they want AND a second round pick.

5. Arizona Cardinals:  Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU

6. Cleveland Browns:  A.J. Green, WR, Georgia

7. San Francisco 49ers: Prince Amukamara, CB, Nebraska

8. Tennessee Titans: Jake Locker, QB, Washington

9. Dallas Cowboys: Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin

10. Washington Redskins: Blaine Gabbert, QB, Missouri

11. Houston Texans: Robert Quinn, DE, North Carolina

12. Kansas City Chiefs: Julio Jones, WR, Alabama: It is worth parting with a second-round pick to get the WR they need.

13. Detroit Lions: Tyron Smith, OT, Southern California

14. St. Louis Rams: Cameron Jordan, DE, California

15. Miami Dolphins: Aldon Smith, DE, Missouri

16. Jacksonville Jaguars: Ryan Kerrigan, DE, Purdue

17. New England Patriots:  Mike Pouncey, OG, Florida

18. San Diego Chargers: J.J. Watt, DE, Wisconsin

19. New York Giants: Anthony Castonzo, OT, Boston College

20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Da'Quan Bowers, DE, Clemson

21. Minnesota Vikings: Ryan Mallett, QB Arkansas: The QB they wanted was off the board, allowing them to trade down and take their second choice.

22. Indianapolis Colts: Derek Sherrod, OT Mississippi State

23. Philadelphia Eagles: Jimmy Smith, CB, Colorado: This pick frees Seattle up to trade options.

24. New Orleans Saints: Corey Liuget, DT, Illinois

25. Baltimore Ravens: Aaron Williams, CB Texas: Concerned over losing their CB to Seattle, the Ravens send the fourth-round pick they should have given to Seattle for Josh Wilson.

26. Green Bay Packers: Brooks Reed, DE/OLB, Arizona: The Packers are down to one person they desperately need to improve their defense, so they send their 2012 second-round pick to Seattle to make sure they get him.

27. Atlanta Falcons: Kyle Rudolph, TE, Notre Dame

28. New England Patriots: Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama

29. Chicago Bears: Muhammad Wilkerson, DT, Temple

30. New York Jets: Akeem Ayers, OLB, UCLA

31. Pittsburgh Steelers: Benjamin Ijalana, OT/G, Villanova

32. Seattle Seahawks: Marvin Austin, DT North Carolina: Seattle picks up a third and fourth-round pick and gets a DT that figured to be a top 15 choice prior to getting suspended.
