2011 NFL Draft Results: Did Bills Finally Have Solid Draft with Dareus and Co?

2011 NFL Draft Results Did the Bills Finally Get a Draft Right With Marcell Dareus and Co?

It's been 11 long years since the Buffalo Bills sniffed playoff air.

The main reason behind this treacherous postseason absence has been the inability to make the right selections come draft time.

This year, the Bills got a player in Marcell Dareus that represents great value at No. 3 overall and fills a huge need for the defense. He can play anywhere across the line, and he coupled with Kyle Williams should begin to wreak havoc in the AFC.

MUST READ: Report Cards For the First Three Rounds

Aaron Williams and Kelvin Sheppard were the next two picks, and both have legitimate chances to be starters from Day One.

Williams was graded as first-round prospect by some and Sheppard has the size and instincts to play inside in the 3-4 alignment, something the Bills desperately needed as the worst run defense in the NFL last year.

They added more inside linebacking and cornerback depth in the later rounds, which tells me GM Buddy Nix has put an onus on fixing Buffalo's biggest problem.

With Dareus and two potential starters in the first three picks, it looks like Buffalo not only has gotten more physical and nasty on defense, but have had quite the solid draft.

Finally.
