2011 NFL Mock Draft: Jacksonville Jaguars Select Ryan Kerrigan with 16th Pick

2011 NFL mock draft: Jags hope to solve DE problem with Purdue standout

Jacksonville used its first four picks a year ago in the draft on its defensive front and it still isn't good enough.

So, why not try again? Ryan Kerrigan is still on the board and is one of the more consistent and stable players heading into draft day.

Kerrigan's stock has been stable throughout the offseason. If anything, it increased with his 4.67-second 40 time. That was second among the first round linemen prospects.

Kerrigan summed up in one sentence...Ryan Kerrigan is an intelligent, ball-hawking defensive end that gives you 110 percent on every single play.

He is known for his outstanding motor that never quits. It is hard to pass on a guy like this. Even though he may not be the most talent defensive end, his effort is what gets him to the quarterback half the time.

Kerrigan also is known to go for the football when tackling. He recorded a conference record 14 fumbles forced in his career.
